Facebook video leading to the arrest of Milwaukee locals

Friday, a Milwaukee native named Breion Woodson was sentenced to 19 years in prison. I do not agree with anything Woodson did, but I also do not think he should’ve received 19 years. I believe the judicial system is trying to make an example out of Woodson. What’s shocking, is that his judge played a video originating from Facebook in the courtroom. I believe it’s safe to say that this video fueled his arrest and prosecution. The judge seemed quite a bit disturbed from what she witnessed. Woodson is not the only male indicting himself in this video. Many other males were shown in the video flashing guns and drugs while sending out threat after threat. This footage really bothers me. Why Milwaukee? Take a look at the footage below.

The video notes that this location is N. 32nd St. and W. Auer Ave. I’m pretty sure more arrests will be made, simply based upon this video. I really wonder why videos like these are even made. Who in their right mind would feel comfortable opening up to the web about what type of weapons and drugs they keep, where they keep them, and how many people keep them? It’s absurd to me. Not only can it stem to an arrest, but it’s not ideal in a dog eat dog world.

Nothing Woodson or any other male in this video possessed is worth 19 years of your life. Woodson maybe had a great life full of riches for maybe 5 years, to spend the next 19 years with nothing to his name. How does that balance out? Young teens recently have been organizing crimes such as “bump and runs/robs” and “mobile drug houses”. If the effort and organization you guys put into these high risk crimes would be applied to school or a local LEGAL business, you’d be millionaires by now. Work for what you want guys, please.

People always think it’s just Facebook or its just Snapchat but this time it backfired. I’m pretty sure a large amount of Milwaukee teens know exactly who these young men are. It is your duty to help these men and men like them if they happen to get another chance. For some it will be too late. Make a change Milwaukee.

It’s about the way you go about everything you do. Broadcasting your methods of however you get your dollar is just stupid. Facebook doesn’t need to know the moves you are making.

A man suppose to live and die by his actions. So if you wanna do something stupid that’s on you. In this life you not suppose to be seen or heard. You shouldn’t be out here snitching on yourself. That’s just stupid.

Nah I get what you saying. But it seems like that lifestyle they living stems from influence. It’s handed down from one generation to the next. It’s prolly all they know. I’m not trying to justify it, but “you are a product of your environment” is very true in this situation. Niggas don’t see any bigger pictures for life because they believe there isn’t one.

Definitely. There were kids on the porch watching the madness. So in about 8 or 10 years where do you think those kids will be? Continuing the cycle. But although it’s true we can’t keep using it as a crutch. Somebody has to step in and wake these kids up!

Very true that life cam get pasted down from generation to generation. But back in the day they ain’t have cameras and social media. This new generation is being stupid all own there own. If that’s how you gotta survive that’s fine. But why you gotta be flashy and let everyone know what you doing. The police job is to catch you. They job not to get caught. I guess this person who got 19 years ain’t doing they job

Never looked at it that way. That’s a very valid point! Why indict yourself?

If you call yourself a “friend” of one of these guys you have failed them. You failed them by sitting back and watching their destruction. As friends we need to hold the people we care about to higher standards. I always step on my peers neck and let them know when they’re out of line. I love my friends too much to watch them land themselves in a grave or in jail. Do better MKE.
